Cookie policy

We use minimal storage to respect your time. This page explains what the banner controls and how to revoke consent.

Cookies are small files placed on your device by websites you visit. Local storage is a related browser feature that can hold small amounts of data. Quiet Meridian uses storage sparingly and primarily to remember whether you have responded to our cookie notice, so you are not repeatedly interrupted while reading long essays.

Essential operation. Delivering pages over HTTPS and remembering language or font preferences may involve technical storage considered strictly necessary in many jurisdictions. Such storage supports basic functionality rather than marketing profiles.

Consent banner choices. When you choose Accept or Decline on the banner, we record that choice in local storage under a site-specific key. Declining means we avoid optional behaviors tied to that consent. You may reopen settings via the footer link labeled “Cookie settings,” which displays the banner again.

Analytics. If the hosting environment uses first-party logs only, cookies may be unnecessary for aggregate statistics. If privacy-preserving analytics are added later, this policy will be updated to name the provider, data categories, and retention. We do not intend to enable invasive cross-site tracking for this educational property.

Third-party embeds. If future articles embed video or documents hosted elsewhere, those providers may set their own cookies beyond our control. We will prefer minimal embeds and label them when feasible.

Managing storage in your browser. You can delete site data, block third-party cookies, or use private browsing modes. Instructions vary by browser; consult your vendor’s help documentation. Clearing storage may cause the cookie banner to reappear—this is expected.

Updates. Changes to technologies or regulations may require policy updates. We will revise the date at the top of this page when edits are substantive. Continued reading after updates constitutes awareness; if you disagree with new practices, adjust browser settings or discontinue use.
